Composite Restorations

Advantages Include:

  • Looks very natural
  • Virtually invisible
  • Supports and protects the tooth
  • Protects from future discomfort and infection
  • Preserves tooth structure

After decay is removed from a tooth, a composite restoration is placed. There is a slightly higher fee for a composite restoration than an amalgam restoration, and insurances sometimes only cover the cost of the amalgam, leaving the patient a balance. Even so, our office feels that saving more tooth structure and other advantages far outweigh the cost and disadvantages found in amalgam restorations. Cost varies widely, due to the amount of surfaces and complexity involved in the removal and filling. Our office staff can give you an estimate for your particular fee and insurance coverage.
